"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

six girls and their new home~

one wee older one
went into panic mode

"but mama you just jumped from
bringing them home
to almost a year later
them in their first snow"

he said i never finished sharing their tale

i told him  no worries
its my blog
i can jump ahead
or fall behind

so back to the first few days in may of 2011
a glimpse of the girls and their new home to be

the one thing i found most fascinating
was what we were told
about their night time little ritual

"as soon as mr sun
starts sinking beyond the horizon
one by one these little ones
will go into their coop"

fascinated by
HOW
 TRUE
THESE WORDS
 REALLY WERE
one by one
in an orderly fashion
they march themselves in

and snuggle up for the night

and so a new day of hard work began
by mid morning the next day
we were busy scurrying about

while some decided to lounge around

the more we worked

the more exhausted they became!!!

more work

more rest...i tell ya

a look inside their new home to be

this here little one
always up for a wee little snuggle

much time has passed
so be prepared for many more
wee little glimpses of our six girls

paperswap...january~

"Creativity is the power to connect
the seemingly unconnected"
william plomer

it has been awhile
a year or so
since i have taken out my papers
and spent the day playing

hosts a paperswap each month
with a different theme

its a wonderful way to send forth and receive
bits and pieces from and for your stash

as you can see
januarys theme was

mother goose

this was much fun and difficult all the same

it caused me to dig down deep
and find where my creative mind had been hiding

there is no right or wrong
you may chose to send what ever you wish

a glimpse of what headed out the door yesterday
and will be making its way to the united kingdom

across the lands
many miles away
its one sweet little creative way
to share with one another

a journey that is never predictable
never the same

there is always something wondrous to discover
especially when your package arrives

methodical weaving~

“We all have our own life to pursue,
Our own kind of dream to be weaving
And we all have the power
To make wishes come true,
As long as we keep believing.”
 Louisa May Alcott

there are some things in life

that are just worth
taking your time creating

“You see,
when weaving a blanket,
an Indian woman
leaves a flaw in the weaving of that blanket
 to let the soul out.”
Martha Graham

ideally

would i
 LOVE
to
have
a
shop
 FILLED FULL
of handmade treasures

yep

but...in doing so
.
i would be rushing through

missing the enjoyment

of what was really transpiring
through the minutes spent
of my weaving methodically
thread by thread

so with this here blanket
there is no time for it's completion

it is a piece i go to
when in need of a moment

and nothing more

one day...one day
i will share it in all its glory

doodling away~

“I am enough of an artist
to draw freely upon my imagination
Imagination is more important than knowledge
Knowledge is limited
 Imagination encircles the world.”
Albert Einstein

feb. 16

a few pieces from the past

i have found that i enjoy
the simplicity of sketching

more than i do adding color

this is something
i always did when i was younger
sketch
draw
doodle

it was always done with a pencil or ink

never color

i try to dapple in color
but often i am left with a disappointed feeling
a thought as to i should have just left it alone

and you know what i have come to accept
if i want color
than color it will be

but otherwise it will be just me
and a pencil or pen at hand

and really
 its ok with me
becaues all n all
i am setting my imagination free

ps...sorry for the dark images...my lovely camera has a visitor that has traveled along and made its way into the lense...
a tinsy piece of something now has caused for a dark spot in my pictures!
price to get it removed is half the price of my camera...gggrrr...
hopefully this little visitor will not stay around to long.

52 projects has come to an end...weeks 48~52~

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow.
Learn as if you were to live forever.”
Mahatma Gandhi

jan. 23

its hard to believe
first i have missed so many of these posts
and secondly that this little adventure
into challenging myself weekly
has to come to an end

~week 48~

remember the felt i had used on the wee little birdie
well i had a bit left over
and decide to try making a few holiday cards

see the pink...a wee littles added touch!!!

~week 49~

i decoupaged boxes for cairns

i really enjoyed making these
was a perfect way to package up gifts as well

~week 50~

for the celebrate the season swap
i created this blessing sign

~A Blessing for the Day~

May the Light of your soul guide you.
May the Light of your soul bless the work you do
with the love and warmth of your heart.
May you see in what you do,
the beauty of your own soul.
May the sacredness of your work bring healing, light,
and renewal to those who work with you
and to those who see and receive your work.
May your work never weary you.
May it release within you wellsprings of
refreshment, inspiration and excitement.
May you always be present in what you do.
May you never become lost in bland absence.
May the day never burden you.
May the dawn find you awake and alert,
approaching your new day with dreams possibilities and promises.
May evening find you gracious and fulfilled.
May you go into the night
blessed sheltered and protected.
May your soul calm, console, and renew you.
John O'Donohoe

~week 51~

Belly Dancing Class

no pictures for this one
but
i think i found another calling
I LOVE IT

had all three of my classes
and i am looking forward to joining more

 ~week 52~

for the quiet moon exchange
i thought it would be fun to created little journals

so that each full moon that comes our way
they can reflect upon their thoughts

52 projects
pieces
things started
 completed
growth
 change
stepping out of my comfort shell
doing things that once just sat
as thoughts harbored

jane
you gave me a gift
by creating this challege
it forced me to create
to try
to learn

many things may have never come to be
if i did not have this here challenge
knowing by the end of each week
i needed to have something new to share

i can not
THANK YOU
enough for what you have done with 52 projects

will it come to an end
i am not sure if this adventure will continue on

but the one sure thing is
i will continue my quest
of learning and doing something new

time...a treasure found~

“Time is free,
 but it's priceless.
You can't own it,
 but you can use it.
You can't keepit,
but you can spend it.
 Once you've lost it
you can never get it back.”
Harvey MacKay

jan. 20
at the start of september
i was gifted with
TIME

TIME

something we all take for granted
at various moments in our life

this
TIME
that had been gifted
came in the form
of
two littles having their pottery lessons together
therefor
giving me
a
WHOLE
hour and a half
to myself

SOMETHING THAT rarely HAS BEEN

it could have
but i just never asked
or took the opportunity to be alone

so with this gift of
TIME
i find myself savoring each minute

and what do i do with such
TIME
you may wonder

well
sometimes i sit in silence
and
just simply be

sometimes
i sit and knit or crochet
read or write
or capture moments passing
through the lense of my camera

sometimes
i run around like a mad woman
attempting to get errands accomplished
as a gift to my littles

and sometimes
i find myself wandering through thrift stores

sometimes i am on a misson
specifics on my mind

and sometimes
just sometimes
when least expecting
i stumble upon something grand

i bet by now you figured it out

yesterday
not even thinking of yarn

40 bundles in a bag @ 3.99

3.99 / 40 = 0.09975

now how could i resist!!!

the greatest part was
 this yarn above
something i would have walked right by
 if lined on a shelf

when i returned home
with my sweet little bag plum full of beautiful bits

i pulled out this yarn
and thought
why not
so different from my ususal

and you know what

I LOVE IT
my love even commented on how pretty it was
so different but so wonderful

i can't wait to finish

so
 in
TIME
i shall knit my minutes away

knight of cups~

“Life is like a game of cards.
 The hand you are dealt is determinism;
the way you play it is free will.”
Jawaharlal Nehru

jan. 7

often times i turn to my tarot cards
when days are calling
more for clarity
or finding a sense calm
especially when a storm is brewing

i have used it to help guide others in my life
offering up an outlook that may not have been seen

but as a daily practice
not so much

once did
then fell by the wayside

so as this new year started
so did

drawing one card a day

in the quiet morning hours
i draw one card

listen quietly
to hear the advice that it is offering up
and then apply it in my day to day living

i have been journaling with this practice as well
helping it to become more apart of me
to visualize and write
thus far it has been a motivational gift

do you use tarot cards
 or any other tool
to help guide you in your days

and so it snowed~

“The future lies before you,
like paths of pure white snow.
Be careful how you tread it,
for every step will show.”
unknown

dec. 30

and so it snowed
not much
but just enough
