"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

ordained~

~ ORDAINED ~

as the last day of 2011's minutes were ticking by
i had the honor of performing a wedding ceremony
a gift i whole heartedly wanted to give

during my time away
one of my thoughts that replayed over and over
was about becoming ordained

first and for most
the seed was planted when i went to a celebration of one's life
and was saddened by the honoring of such

it was then that i thought

maybe i could do this

no...i wanted to do this

such a small gift i could give family and friends
and to those moving on from our place here

time passed...days...weeks...months...almost a year

and then a family member shared
they were going to the justice of peace
on new years eve

i swallowed hard
i remained silent
it drove me crazy

on thanksgiving it was brought up again

and this time i could not keep my mouth closed

"i could become ordained"

i glanced at my love and a smile he gave

i am no professional
not years of schooling behind me
or a decade of preaching or ministering

♥ ♥ ♥
just a belief that i hold in my heart
♥ ♥ ♥

i believe in love
to love and to be loved

there is nothing greater than thee

i am
EMERGING
from the shy quiet side
that has kept me from so much
and stepping out

i am
EMBARKING
 on a new adventure
i am in the process of creating a page
for those seeking one who is ORDAINED
for their sacred day

i am
EMBRACING
my love of words
and celebrating them in the most wonderful of ways

I know it's a kismet thing that you again posted something that brings back memories. My Mother in law, was ordained, and she performed my sons wedding! It was her first, and she wasn't sure if she should have. But she wanted to. She was spiritual, and gave true meaning to the ceremony, so yes, I'm glad she performed the ritual.
never hold back if you know it's true.

thanks, Brandi
thank you!
