“If you wish to experience peace,
provide peace for another.”

signed
sealed
delivered
despite my every effort
i could not find my grandfathers
original birth certificate
nor could the health department
but the documents i did find
and was able to present
brought forth one almost the same
What is a Delayed Certificate of Birth?
A delayed birth certificate is
any birth certificate not filed
within one year of the date of birth
irreguardless
birth certificate or delayed
this will allow him to get his passport
and revisit his past
many questions still remain unanswered
and i am beginning to wonder if
that is what my nana wished for
why ever else would it be so difficult
to find any pieces of the past
linking her my great grandfather and grandfather
anywhere in this world
a mystery for now it will remain
and so my beautiful friends
this day
i breath a breath of life
knowing
not that i can
but
that
I
AM
GIVING
A GIFT
TO THEE

What an undertaking and you have succeeded. I don't know what it is about our past but humans always had the great desire to connect with it. It's a good thing we do for much of our present is defined by it. I hope you are keeping warm. Any snowboarding adventures lately? :)
Success! Hurray for you and the tremedous effort you made! Sometimes in the past, when home births were the norm, people simply didn't know that they had to register the birth with the government. That may be why there was no birth certificate?
good for you... it always feels good to accomplish an undertaking... and with your tenacity it had no choice but to do just that. Hope all is well with you and yours...
I have had to go through the *paper trails* myself for some legal closings and one of the odd anomalies I found was my aunt, at some point, just stopped using her given birth name and used another. I had not known her by her birth name, had no idea which the death certificate was under and no clue where or when she was born. Talk about feeling helpless! I totally understand---things just were different. We were not so locked into documentation other than perhaps a family bible....

Congrats on your success. As a genealogist, I know how hard it can be to get some of these vital statistics.

way to go - you totally rocked that adventure!
A teary eyed post for me, a most auspicious gift!
I wish all good things for you and your family of love.
Blessings.
What a Gift Dear One! I'm so very happy for you and your family! :)
Blessings of Love,

I'm so glad you were able to find this! I just finally found out my great grandfather's name shortly after the death of my grandfather. I know nothing else about him, due to family drama & bigotry long before my grandfather was even born. It's one of my dreams to find the missing part of my family. I'm so glad you're a step closer to finding missing parts of yours!
xoxo
Oh my goodness! Congratulations on accomplishing this difficult yet oh-so-worthy feat! Having had to jump over a few frustrating bureaucratic hurdles today, I can imagine what headaches and heartaches and paperwork and waiting you had to endure to achieve this. You did not just give him a piece of paper. You gave him a dream, doors, possibilities, and answers. Oh my. How wonderful!!!
xoxo
This is terrific news! I KNOW how much hard work you put into obtaining your grandfather's birth certificate. What an amazing gift you have given to him! Congratulations to you both. Theresa :)
Wow - I am quite certain that your grandfather will be so grateful for the gift you have given to him x
Congratulations! I know what a feat this is you have accomplished. I'm trying to gather my own family's history for the next generation and it's been something else. It is such a blessing that you are giving not just him, but all those after. Big hugs!
