“As we let our light shine,
we consciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear,
our presence actually liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson
dec. 31
all good things must come to an end
and so just as quickly as the snow had fallen
mr. sun came way and melted it just as fast
another year gone by
often i do wonder
how much faster the days could and will pass
as each day that comes
seems to go by a bit quicker than the one before
often i do wonder
how much faster the days could and will pass
as each day that comes
seems to go by a bit quicker than the one before
it had not hit me much
thinking or pondering
about this year coming to a close
about this year coming to a close
you could say i was a bit oblivious
as to what was creeping its way to surface
until the day before christmas eve
it was that morning that it hit me
a call from a loved one asking what they shall do
without a thought in my mind
thinking twice about what i was going to say
i told them
"you have one chance to live this life
so live it as you wish"
"i can not make a decision reguarding what is the right or wrong thing to do
only you can decide that"
it was then as i hung up the phone
LIBERATING
the condition in which
an individual has the ability
to act according to his or her own will
LIBERATING...came to me
out of the clear blue yonder
my word that would be
i had not been looking
seeking
or even thinking about a word
but
LIBERATING
To set free,
{YES...YES...YES...FREE...OH I DO SO LIKE THIS
& THE WAY IT SOUNDS & MAKES ME FEEL}
as from oppression,
confinement,
or foreign control
funny how things come our way
when least expecting
a word chosen
a word i use often to guide or direct others
yet
a word
i hardly grasp
as often as i should
LIBERATING
able to act at will;
not hampered;
not under compulsion or restraint
now mind you
don't worry that i do not live for myself
make my own choices
or act upon my own free will
because i learned long ago
many lessons
that have brought me to my place
my path
how i choose to live this life
but
i can honestly say
i do not embrace
being and or feeling
LIBERATED
free from traditional social restraints
on a day to day basis
i do still shelter insecurities
harbor fear
all from what we are taught from long ago
it is these ties i wish to break
it is these emotions
that at times keep me from being and feeling
LIBERATED
“It is not the simple statement of facts
that ushers in freedom;
it is the constant repetition
of them
that has this
liberating
effect."
Quentin Crisp
and when you attain it
when you have succeeded in trying
you feel that emotion
running wildly through your body
running wildly through your body
LIBERATING
i can remember long ago
standing in the mountains
so far from all those others who exist around me in this world
yet some so close
they could be mindlessly wandering as we had
i stood under the light of the moon
took off my clothes
and bathed in the river before me
DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT FELT LIKE
to stand before any and all who may be passing
not caring
i as i am
so far away from perfect
but accepting myself
loving myself
just as i was
not wishing or thinking i was different
i just stood there and soaked up a moment
i never thought would be
i was bare
exposed
naked to the world
and it was ok
that carelessness that one young girl had long ago
the feeling that it really didn't matter
the thoughts of another
carefree
it was then i was happy
and fully being as i am
and what a moment
i will never forget
if ever it could be
it was there
i was holding it
i was carrying such word
in the palm of my hand
and it was beautiful
so i shall only walk forward
into this new year
savoring life as it passes
and being
as
LIBERATING
as i can possibly be
to each of you
i thank you for this past year
for being such bright lights in my day to day
for sharing together
for all of your love words and support
you have given to me
and i can only hope
to continue sharing
many many many
more days here with you
into this new year
savoring life as it passes
and being
as
LIBERATING
as i can possibly be
to each of you
i thank you for this past year
for being such bright lights in my day to day
for sharing together
for all of your love words and support
you have given to me
and i can only hope
to continue sharing
many many many
more days here with you
only the brightest of
new year wishes
&
blessings
upon
you
&
yours
new year wishes
&
blessings
upon
you
&
yours

Oh my goodness! What a parade of wonders! Your words are as soothing as the morning's crips air. Thank you so much for all your kindness. You have been a constant source of warmth and comfort. I know I have not been expressive lately, so many distractions and things that take precedence over everything. It's been a very tough year but as it ends, here's to a bright future with peace, joy, love and happiness. I really mean it. Tsup!
As the days go faster, your word will help you enjoy all that you can...
Liberating!!! Makes me want to dance around a fire and laugh with joy!
Liberating it is Faerwillow, have a blast with that this year!
Happy day, my blogland friend. What a wonderful word choice for you. Seems you will go far in this coming year.
By the way, all your photos in this post were breathtaking. i wanted to reach out and touch the trees and run the melting snow through my fingers.
Beautiful inspiring words Faerwillow! Happy New Year and Brightest blessings to you and yours!
How wonderful that the word came to you and gave you a renewal of the "real" you. I am so blessed by having a moment each day to spend with you. To have shared our hearts, our thoughts, our convictions. Be blessed and continue Liberating others as well as yourself. A fan, a friend and fellow traveler, The Olde Bagg, Linda
Much as I love the snow, I wish the sun would come and clear this mess up. Not so pretty in the city. Wishing you and yours the best and happiest New Yesr.

This is beautiful and VERY inspiring. Liberating, I needed to hear this today. It IS strange how we do stumble on a person or place when they are saying what we need to hear...serendipity indeed : ) You have a lovely blog here. I found you through Heather, at Rose Hill Designs.
I also love the Marianne Williamson quote. I have heard it before, but had forgotten about it. It is so very true.
Have a joyous New Year!
What a terrific word for 2011! May it be a truly liberating year for you, dear Faerwillow!
Wow...wow...wow...what an inspiring and absolutely beautiful post! I adore the lovely words and how true...to be free. And you are so right. We must embrace this wonderful life and live it to the fullest. I'm so glad we've had an opportunity to connect across this space. For you are a blessing and an encouragement to all who come visit your special place. May your New Year be filled with peace, love and light. Sheila
Beautiful words ... wonderful inspiring images. Wishing you a truly happy New Year, my dear friend. Liberating, peaceful, full of happiness, light, space and true love for you and your loved ones!
Those photos are incredible, I am stunned by their beauty! I love how your special word just came to you. Mine did the same. I wasn't really thinking about it consciously until, suddenly, pooft, there it was!
Liberating! What an EXHILARATING word! And because of you I found a word for the New Year, as well. I'm so happy we met this year and I look forward to another year of sharing with you. Wishing you and yours an enchanting and prosperous New Year! Theresa
Hon...that was beautiful..touched me deeply! I love this word..I too remember feeling that way as a child. I look for that still..now and again I find it! JOY!
You have been a blessing in my life this year hon..thank you for lifting me up when things were rough and being there for me when I needed a hand..I am blessed to know you!
One of my favorite quotes...from Mr. Magorium...
“Your life is an occasion. Rise to it.” I love that so very much!!
Hugs and love to you hon, Sarah
thank you for your wise and inspiring words that are oh so liberating! That would be a good word to carry through the year! The word I have chosen is 'listen'.... it has much to say and I am listening.
Thank you for your lovely friendship and also your gorgeous stunning photos... plus beautiful you!
FW - being free sounds like a great starting point for a new year; and standing bare of -ve encumbrances - good way to be. Agree not a good idea to do the actual bare thing with the weather as it is your way. Go well. B
FW - The images are astoundingly beautiful and exquisite, and I loved your pondering of what it means to be liberated, to feel liberated. It operates on so many levels, and whilst we do really well on many, there are still a couple of wee ones where we may need challenging. Best wishes for the new year as you bring this word to bear upon your life and days.
I just wonder how you do such wonderful things in a very simple way. You have such an amazing capability of using such creative ways of explaining things by using power words.
How inspirational this read has been and I thank you! I feel so...so...LIBERATED!
An ENORMOUS postscript:
At the front of a soon~to~be grand 2011, I resolve to replace resolutions with wishes:
From across the pond, The Winter Solstice: The Sacred Traditions of Christmas (by John and Caitlin Matthews) arrived, red and green and gold foiled-wrapped inside a Christmas parcel to me from Gemmama (my grandmother who presently visits in the UK)!
At midnight, as the clocks all at once sang their songs announcing a shiny-new year, the following wish-lovely spell from the book’s pages I did cast (and because the remains of this day yet belong to New Year's Day, I am certain time is plenty enough for you to likewise make a wish for 2010!):
Fill a large shallow dish with raisins (preferably golden) and pour a few drizzles of brandy over them. Put out the lights then set torch to the "cheer." Whilst it is still "going," snatch one of the raisins from the flames. As you put the fevered fairy-fruit in your mouth, make a wish! It will be granted in the next twelve months, it is promised! (PLEASE TO NOTE: Remember the Law of Three: what you do will come back to you threefold, whether for good or ill, so never perform any spell to harm or control as it will ultimately not only hurt your “intended,” but also yourself.)
Happy New Year and best wishes!

Oh wow! Isn't it amazing how such truths can suddenly 'hit' us when we least expect them! What an AWESOME word to cherish deep in your heart throughout 2011. It embraces so much profound mystery: an exhillerating freedom but honesty and courageous authenticity too. Already I can feel the warmth of its light radiating through your words and photography.
It so thrills my heart to have met you this year, dear FaeWillow, and I look forward to continuing to share this journey in the days to come too.
Many sparkling blessings sent to you and your loved ones.
Hugs xxxx
