are you savoring the season
enticing your senses
INDULGING
in all the sweet and spices of these autumn days
i know i am
pumpkin spice breves
apple cider made from scratch
homemade caramel dip with apples
and baking with an old favorite recipe
i have used for almost fifteen years
~pumpkin bread~
baking bread couldn't be more easier than this
this is the original
but for what i am about to share
i halved this recipe and tweeked it once more
and but of course made more mini little muffins
1 1/2 c sugar
1 3/4 c flour
1/2 c oil
what i love about this recipe
is there is no creaming whisking mixing
until the very end
all it goes
into one bowl
mind you i am very much sure that if you really wanted to
you could put forth the extra effort
and do as you usually would
this here recipe is even
"little"
proof
i don't think any one could mess this up
2 eggs
3/4 tsp kosher salt
i did not half the spice
1 tsp cinnamon
just a quick glimpse to show you
i really haven't touched these ingrediants
above calls for ground nutmeg
but me
i prefer using it whole
i grate till i think its enough
all by the eye
1 tsp baking soda
1/3 c water
1 cup pumpkin
now these wonderful ingrediants
have patiently awaited to be mixed together
me
my secret weapon
is an old wooden spoon
gently mix
till all ingresiants are incoporated
line your mini muffin pan
or if bread is what you wish
grease and flour 1 bread pan
if you use the original recipe written above
it yields 2 huge loaves of bread
with mix left over for
a little mini loaf or two
1 tbsp of mix into each cup
into the oven
let the magic to begin
15~20 mins later
remove from the oven
allow to cool
add a little frosting to your muffins
or simply a pat of butter will do just the same
indulge
in the sweetness and the spices of the season
for me
its the little things
of this season the excite me so
fill my sense
with wonder and delight
early mornings dark gray and hazy
fog lifting
steam rising from fences as the day begins
raindrops falling
puddles forming
creating gorgeous reflections of the vibrant trees
watching leaves falling
swirling about
till they fall gently to the ground
feeling the cool crisp breeze
hearing the crackle of fires
smelling the wood as it burns
the layering of clothing
candles glowing
baking and cooking hearty comfort foods
hot hot cups of spicy teas
blankets
warmth
earlier nights
time to unwind
staying a little longer
but mostly snuggling with littles
and
my l♥ve
