nearing the last days of october
we finally made our way to the pumpkin patch
the mountain peeked through the corn maze
it didn't take but a minute
for one wee little one to pick out his pumpkin
not so little i guess
as he was adimit
that he carry it all the way to the wheel barrow
one quick look around
i could see
i would not find my great white pumpkin
there were not many
quite sparse actually
our weather really has taken its toll on crops
the corn maze was really
the only inviting thing for my eyes
most of the pumpkins sat still half way green
{the lonely one in our garden still hasn't turned}
even the itty bitty babies seem to have suffered
these are the four we have chosen to bring home
in perfect childlike manner
one older one always goes for the biggest!
so despite the weather and the way it has affected
these dear little pumpkins
i tried as hard as i could to embrace their beauty
is this not the
wickedest
sweet little look in one wee little eyes
{no more pictures mama}
i wish i could have taken this whole lot
the highlight each year for both of my littles
is where these tickets will lead
can you sense ones excitement
one wee little oh he ran for the line
then decided to take a seat
he thought he should hide his tickets
and keep them in a safe place
can you guess where he put them?!?
he waited and waited so patiently
then decided his pumpkin wasn't fit for a king
so off he went to find a new throne
can you see what it says
pumpkin sling shots
this is what each has been anticipating
keeper of this here space
she watches over
keeping all safe
now i couldn't quite figure this one out
there were
no
BIG
white pumpkins
anywhere to be seen
yet a whole box filled with itty bitties
ammunition picked and ready to fire
i do feel sorry for these itties
atleast they get to go for one heck of a ride
one older one finally takes a stand
confident from last years win
unfortunately they wouldn't let him win by default
his last little pumpkin bounced on the ground
then fell into the bucket
but hey in life you always gotta play fair
twelve little pumpkins flew through the air
landed in a great vast field
to lay with the others
one little family successfully made
their annual trip to a patch filled with pumpkins
~wishing you a wonderful october filled day~

what a fabulous collection of images!! You sure made them beautiful :) and your little ones are adorable - I love that "Mom, enough pictures..." glare over the pumpkin at you!! You have me longing for a trip to the pumpkin patch! xoxox
What a fun trip to the pumpkin patch! The pumpkins here were less than spectacular this year too. It looks like you and your family made the most of it, especially at the pumpkin slingshot!
Fun the whole family can enjoy...
My...I did have a grand time tagging along on your visit to the pumpkin patch. Seeing the young ones having fun is happy for me.
Great pic's! Great post!
Blessings!
Oh, my it's good to see the young one having so much fun, but said to see what the weather has done to this year's crop. Sadly, here in the city we don't do pumpkins. Not that we can't find them...but the teenagers love to smash them on the ground so what's the sense.

Oh, it looks like you had such a fun time! I so miss the wonderful pumpkin farm we went to last year, but now that we moved so far away, we couldn't go to it this year. We had such a blast last year though. Beautiful photos as usual, you take the most gorgeous photos!
Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Melinda
Wonderful photos! That outing looks like it was lots of fun!!
Methinks it's not just the little-ies that enjoyed this!
The way you capture your thoughts and family's life with words and simple photographs has to be the most beautiful "scrapbook" I've ever seen. I mean that. This post is so eloquent and your photographs have such a magical quality about them. It's just mesmerizing.
I got the post up finally. Was drawn away from the computer after testing that live write program this morning.
Yes, I got the box. Email was next on my list. lol It's so big!!! I'm so eager to see what's inside it. I got it Saturday, I think, and it's been taunting me ever since! Eeeeeep! lol I am glad you got yours too. I can't wait!!!
I am so sorry that ya'lls pumpkins have suffered so. That's a sad sight to see for sure. So many farmers all over the country are having problems with their crops. I wish more attention was given to that.
May you and yours have a beautiful and safe Samhain. I hope your children have fun and that your memories are bright.
I'm so jealous of you Americans and your pumpkin patches! This looks like such fun and it's a beautiful tradition to have. We don't have pumpkins over here, and picking turnips just doesn't sound as appealing :( Great post, and I love your photos!
how great to see your day through the pictures and words you use.. dropping by to say hi!
Hello,
it looks so nice and chilly!perfect.
looks like the bitty babes had fun.
thank you for sharing!!
So happy the day was clear for you to go to the pumpkin patch! Looks like a good time was had by all. Loved seeing all the pumpkins - no matter the size. I love white pumpkins, too. :) We always make sure to find at least one for carving. Theresa
Despite the weather...the Pumpkin Patch is an Autumn must! I love seeing your Littles all bundled up! I had to dig out the shorts in the back of the drawer for my daughter today!
I'm hoping carved pumpkin faces will be the next photos we have in store ;0D
My dearest friend, thank you so much for asking how I am. Fortunately, we were not affected by the disasters since we live in another part of the country. However, imagining the earthquake, volcano eruption AND the tsunami happening one after the other is enough to keep us all on guard here and pray that they will not create anymore damage anywhere near. Again, thank you for being so kind. ~hugs~
It looks like you all had a glorious time. I may have to get a pumpkin yet!
