Fiery colors begin their yearly conquest of the hills,
propelled by the autumn winds.
Fall is the artist.
Takayuki Ikkaku, Arisa Hosaka and Toshihiro Kawabata,
do you know what one can do with
a potato...an apple...cookie cutters...paper and paint
cut your potato in half
press your cookie cutter almost all the way down into potato
take a knife and cut around the cookie cutter
remove excess potato
pull out cutter and you have yourself a stamp
it wouldn't quite be
the spirit of autumn
without an apple
pour your paints out in dishes
ours
metallic watercolors
{though we did not dilute them with water}
you can paint your paint on your stamp
or dip in a bowl
whichever way you wish
one wee little one
wanted a brush as well
“Every artist dips his brush in his own soul,
and paints his own nature into his pictures.”
Henry Ward Beecher
i will never get enough of
the creative minds of our young

That's what holidays are all about -- doing something beautiful with the ones you love. Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring. I think I'll give it a try, I'm sure my Princess and my Piano Man will be all for it!
What a beautiful idea! Thank you for sharing. This is a great way to connect with the nature around us by using bits of it to create art. I will have to try this.

Hi Sweet Willow,
The Autumn project is very lovely. Children are so natural and spontaneous when they draw and paint. The pictures are beautiful and the metallic paints are perfect for Autumn leaves.
I really like the idea of painting apples gold and using them as stamps!
Mabon blessings to you and your little folk!;-)
Have a magical Autumn season.

Oh I love this post! I feel the spirit of autumn and LOVE the pics and potato stamping paint.....awesome!
What a wonderful way to capture the magic of the season, beautiful! I've missed so much on everyone's blogs lately, it's great to be catching up with them all. I was interested to hear about your problems with mailing, I think I may be hitting a similar glitch myself. I must look into it now!
