last week a heat wave
hit us
the river was calling
and so was my husband
thursday~
him: im taking friday off
me: you are
him: we're goin campin
me: perfect
NOW
my husband isn't one to use his vacation days
he likes to store them up
for later
well sometimes later never comes
the year ends
and he loses his time off
so this was a sweet surprise
by noon we were on the road
scorching
in our truck
this little baby
has no AC
water was calling
so a stop was in need
a moment to stretch those wee little legs
inhale the fresh air
feel the pristine water
and admire the beautiful sight
now time never stops ticking
so away we had to go
though i was slowly trailing behind
not quite ready to let this place go
destination made
remember all that water
someone stood in amazement
where did it all go
now usually the first thing to do
is make our little home
but with the heat of the day
sharing its warmth
there was no questions asked
but to get to the river
we were DELIGHTED to see
the pool we had made
still patiently sitting
waiting our return
{need just a tad bit of sprucing...let me just say...
it is not so easy moving such rocks..oh the things you will do for wee little ones}
a dip was done
mama...i'm just testing the water
two boys rushed off
sharing some time
swept away we all seem to get
endless is time
then there is l♥ve always to be found
before we know it
day starts slowy sinking away
the fire becomes a blaze
and two are quietly tucked away
night time has arrived
lulled to sleep are they
our adventures will continue
further more tomorrow

Absolutely gorgeous Camping Site!! Looks like so much fun!!
Oh my, oh my, some scenes are so beautiful they cause an ache inside. A good kind of ache, deep joy!
I'm so happy for your surprise getaway. It is perfect for you and your family!
Blessings!
Your hubby sounds much like me. I've lost so much vacation and sick time in the past that I am determined not to let it happen again. What a lovely site for camping. It's absolutely marvelous to get away like that.

This is a beautiful setting with flowing water and an opportunity for family bonding time.
Gorgeous pics! My hubby and son went camping a couple of weeks ago (my idea of roughing it is staying at a hotel without room service, so I just had a nice 3 days to myself) and my son brought me a heart shaped rock home. I thought of you when I saw it. I've never seen one in person, only on your blogs, now I have my very own and it's sitting on our Seasonal altar for Lammas as a represetation of our thankfulness for the love we share. <3
