"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

our sacred place~

friday we packed up and hit the road
after driving around for hours and hours
what once was a quiet place
has been exploited
and filled with
campers galore
to add to all the people
the lake backs up around this time
and overflows into the land where we camp

{this is the next morning in day light
see the water...
this is the path we usually drive to get way out on the edge and camp
at night it was hard to tell how deep and far it went...
we made it about half way and the water came up over our truck...
we had  to back up}

by 2:00am
we pulled off the side of the road
tucked ourselves back in the woods
and attempted to sleep for a few hours
till the sun would come up

there was no sleep
just restless minutes ticking by
finally light was coming
and off we went

we were greeted by
this adorable family
as we made our way

back over the bridge
relentless not willing to give up
eagerly awaiting to unpack and make our home

this time being able to see
we were able to find our path

careful though
 not to disturb
 mama duck and her babies
during their morning swim

we found our spot
pitched our tent

our hammock was hung
{could it get any better than that...well maybe}

what else is there to be done
but listen to the river calling

sink into the sounds
of the water rushing by

or maybe
explore a little

discovering
dainty gems

that have stood
 the test of time
they come back
they grow and thrive

pools catching her reflections
surrounding such grounds

eyes always open
 look closely
chipmunks you will find

if you have wandered to long
and feel the need for a wee little break

pull up a chair
and let all be gone

marvel in the treasures
lying within the river bed

in silence we watched
the only clouds in the sky
gingerly pass on by

as the day starts nearing the end
whats left but to warm ourselves

and
 share a sweet kiss

while waiting for the sights
of a million and one stars
glistening in the sky
and a full moon slowly on the rise

home we are
feeling
refreshed
renewed
revitalized

Looks idyllic! Love the photo of the Mother Doe and her two little Bambies. And what a clever "anonymous" kiss photo!

Your pictures are breathtaking!! I felt as if I were there smelling the scents of the forest and hearing the water trickling over the river stones. This gives me inspiration to go camping with my family once we're all back together.
Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog today, I so needed it and it was so helpful!!
Have a wonderful week.
Sincerely,
Melinda
