in the fall
a friend and i
took our children
on a little adventure
a hop skip and a jump away
from where we live
yet once you drive off the ferry
onto this quaint island
you are taken to a different far away land
where all feels
calm and peaceful
we drove without
purpose or plan
and
blessed were we
to have stumbled upon
the cutest road side stands
all based on thee
honor system
a system of conduct
in which participants are trusted not to take unfair advantage of others;
A system, policy or understanding
based on trust in the honesty, honor,
or integrity of others
trust
have confidence or faith in
believe: be confident about something
hope: expect and wish
confidence: a trustful relationship
giving all a fair chance
to do good by them
for all their hardwork
“The shortest and surest way to live with honor
in the world is to be in reality
what we would appear to be;
all human virtues increase and strengthen themselves
by the practice and experience of them.”

I just found your blog. Your writing is beautiful. So many things have spoken to my heart and my soul. I look forward to reading through your entire blog. I have a little island that I love to go to as well.....once you get on the ferry....you leave the rest of the world behind.
ahhh .... such beautiful images!! you never cease to uplift me when i'm low :) brings back loads of memories when we were students and that's exactly what we do. go with no plans, no destinations and always ... we would discover hidden treasures on the way. that should be life :))
Oh what a wonderful place to visit. Great photos. Really got an idea what the island was like. I sure wish something like that was close to me.

i am ready for the lazy days of sunshine, fresh air, blues skies and starry nights. i am ready for a lifetime in a beach cottage, mostly barefoot and in torn jeans. i am soooo ready.
off to the gardens for some photos ... cold, but sunny out and i am ready for all of that (and a child a tad fussy after her kindergarten check up and 2 shots - yikes! so who knows what this day will bring?)
