"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

52 projects...week 12~

~SILK~

The fine, soft thread
produced by various species of caterpillars
 in forming the cocoons within
which the worm is inclosed during the pupa state,
especially that produced by the larvae of Bombyx mori.

100% PURE SILK

a project...finally completed
i found this silk at the thrift store awhile back
it was once a shirt
i cut it into strips
for some time now i would tinker away
crocheting
a little bag for my tarot cards

The Tarot covers are usually made of silk
and are used as a table cover,
when you are laying out your Tarot cards.
The silk is preferred,
as it is supposed
 to
 protect the cards
 from
outside negative vibrations.

i'm
 l♥vin
 this process
and
have already begun another
though much larger in size

This is AWESOME!!! I love finding old clothing at thrift stores and recycling it in to something new. Of course I love knitting so this goes hand in hand. I always see tons of silk scarves in the thrift stores and I'm going to buy a few next time! You have inspired me once again!

oh cool! I haven't done much with silk, used it to dye eggs one year, the patter transfers on the egg.

These are beautiful! So do you do Tarot readings? I am fascinated by astrology, maybe because my Grandmother was Cherokee and "read" her tea leaves and planted according to the Moon. We had a lot of folklore in our family, those have stayed with me. Sorry my link for the weather was a dud for you today:( I guess it was a 50/50 chance, kind of like the weatherman! Have a great weekend...

That's a fab project! Never occured to me to crochet with a silk shirt. I will keep me eye out for one next time I'm in the thift store.

I just have an ordinary velvet pouch for mine. Yours is so funky!
