Keep your faith in beautiful things;
in the sun when it is hidden,
in the Spring when it is gone.
Roy R. Gibson
what a sweet way
to welcome the morning
of february
than a sunrise filled with pinks
bidding farewell with a glowing hue
what seemed unjust yesterday for wee little ones
to be held captive inside
from sniffles and fevers
while the sun was tickling them deep from within
a longing awaiting sense
to sneak out a soak up the sun
so i had to keep them busy
blind their minds
by the sickness that lingers
preventing such play
so we grabbed a 1/2 cup of dried rose hips you see
put on some water 2 cups oh please
waited for a rumble turned boil
ever so gently poured the water on thee
waited ten minutes and strained you see
filled a jar
allowed it to cool
sealed with a lid
rose hip water now we have
(so yes my dears tea it is but works all the same)
why mama why
water we made
oh soon very soon
you will find the answer
my sweet litttle ones
onto the next
as our journey continues
sugar cookies filled with lots of love
(recipe is way down below sugar yule cookies i followed so you know)
fresh from the hearts of wee little ones
rose hip water i'm sure your saying
well a handful of fluffy white powdered sugar
a few teaspoons of that fresh rose water
and one ever so dainty drop of color to add
for a sweet pink little to ever just glisten
sweet treats awaiting their coat
and wee little tummies hardly resisting the result
by this time now
all where tired
batches are left to be finished for baking
more tea to be made
and oh so soon breakfast will be calling
then into the shower
retire to the couch
all snuggled by the fire
to peek outside
await more sunshine
i have learned to make a granny square
so in the quiet of this day
i hope to return to my crochet calling
rest and relax with wee little ones
this is what my hands will do today
and together we sicklys will savor the day

Ah, seems like you've all found ways to deal with the sniffles and being unable to go out. Those cookies sure do look good. Love those pictures of the sky. What beauty is all around us.

Just lovely! I am a huge fan of sugar cookies. I've never made the rose-water icing though - I see taking a stab at that. But first, I have to remember to harvest my rose hips on time this year!
such exquisite cookies...my heart and belly are longing for them too. at my house of snifflers there is soup on the stove and I now must go downstairs to check it.
I hope your little ones feel much better soon.
