"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

slippers this day~

up until last winter
i owned three pairs of socks

barefoot and fancy free

these three pairs of socks
i have had for 18 years
i kid you not

I DID NOT WEAR THEM

WANT THEM

quiet frankly

I DID NOT LIKE THEM

the only time these socks would see any light of day
or come out to play
is when we would
head for the snow and or mountains
other than that
that stayed
nicely tucked away

well all of those feeling changed quite quickly
in the winter days that followed

i kept getting colder and colder
and felt it right down to my bones

in the months after my little hospital adventure last year
"one" of the things i learned
is that i have been blessed with
RAYNAUD'S
to sum it up quite quickly

THE.COLDER.IT.GETS

THE.COLDER.I.GET

so this past year i have been knitting and crocheting
for the sake of my fingers and toes

I WEAR SOCKS AND SLIPPERS
yes indeedy
had i ever thought it could be
NO NOT AT ALL POSSIBLE

but i do have to say

I
 DO

I
DO

like wearing socks and slippers this day

I'm finding that the older I get, the colder I get. I always enjoyed the cold air; now it is becoming torture. Perhaps it is time to move to a warmer climate.

Beautiful colors and I love warm sockies. Keeping warm is an art form as I age. If my feet aren't warm, I'm cold all over.

Wonderful that you knit and crochet.

Happy day.

((hugs))

My hippy feet cry when covered, but alas, they must be in the Winter as well. My most favorite part of Spring ..... unleashing the hounds in the grass!

Something I really love about you is that when life turns you on a different leg of your journey you embrace it in your own unique and beautiful way - such as creating your own lovely slippers instead of buying plain white socks - love this <3

Hi Brandi,
Thank you so much for the comments and encouragement :-)
It is great to be back , and I hope my presence on blogspot becomes more prominent once the shop is up and running... It really was a couple year long process, working up the courage to open up an actual online business for all of my viewers/blog followers... New things are always a bit scary!
Hope you make your way back , once we are open for business! :-)

a good reason to wear sockies...and beautiful work I might add. I personally like them, though I only wear socks when I have to! I've heard silk keeps you warm...hum?

many hugs,
Lisa

And I love knitting them! I have had cold hands and feet all my life, so bundling up was a priority, not an option.
Once I learned the 2 circular needle method of knitting socks (both at once!) I have had a ball! And there are sooooo many good yarns to choose from. <:-)
My stash runneth over.
And the days following chemo, I get to KNIT!
Stay warm!!!

XXOO~~

I love the socks!!! As you know, I am totally in love with yarn. I don't knit all year round but when it hits me, I am obsessed. Since the summer, I've made 5 pairs of socks/slippers and now I'm on to wrist warmers! Happy Saturday!
