"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

i've seen fire...i've seen rain~

but

I.C.E

we had been wishin for snow
&
snow we got

in the days that followed
was something for each to truly behold

something
I
HAVE
NEVER EXPERIENCED

something
I
HAVE
 NEVER EVER SEEN

an ice storm came through for a visit
encapturing the world around us

with such beauty
alas came the power
on and off
on and off

as of now
it is windy and raining

and slowly the exquisite beauty
is melting away

and yes
and if you hadn't guessed by now
all are warm and well
for our power came back on

Ice storms are quietly powerful storms with their heaviness and danger. I never leave the house after having slipped and ended up in pain for almost 3 months. They are surely beautiful, and I am greatful for my wood burning stove when the power eventually goes out. Glad to hear you are all safe and warm.

There's nothing worse than an ice storm for playing havoc with power lines. It's beautiful but deadly. Glad everything's okay now!

Love the photos - so beautiful! It took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at, which I love. Glad you are safe and warm.

Love the shots - love you have power again - what a bumpy, bumpy ride but so incredibly beautiful.

Ice storms are beautiful when they don't do damage. I remember one we had here right when I first started my blog; it was gorgeous but you could hear the trees break in the distance, just like a gun going off.
I'm just waiting for the SNOW to go away! ;-D
Beautiful photos!

Hi Brandi,
Absolutely breathtaking photos!!! You always capture such pure beauty in your photos!! It's because of the way you view the world in such a positive and loving light! I wish I had even an ounce of that!
I hope your doing well sweet friend and enjoy your weekend with your family.
Sincerely,
Melinda

So beautiful! I'm in love with the icicles that were decorating my apartment building the past few days... alas they are but memory now. Glad you are safe & warm & have electricity again. ^-^

Also, I now have James Taylor singing in my head... ^-^

Stay warm!

XOXO

oh dear heart. i know ice from the year i spent in Buxton, Maine. Icicles hung from my garage apartment roof, they were 3 and 4 feet long. I was iced in. Could not open doors, could not open garage door. the plumbing froze, the power was off three days. this florida girl thought she was going to die of hypothermia! Hah. Woo-woo.

your photos, however freezie cold they make me in Maine flashbacks!, are gorgeous. tee-hee

Such beautiful and amazing images! Made all the better by the knowing that you and yours are warm and safe as well! Thanks for showing those of us in summer, these icy treasures.

B- such amazing images. Nature may have offered the 'opportunity' but the way you saw and captured the ice encased wire is brilliant. Glad to hear you are warm again. Go well. B

Ice storms can be so beautiful but also frightening, as well. There is beauty in the stillness. I am glad that you found the beauty - and that you and your family are safe and warm (and hopefully with power!).
