"One must have a mind of winter
To regard the frost and the boughs
Of the pine-trees crusted with snow;
And have been cold a long time
To behold the junipers shagged with ice,
The spruces rough in the distant glitter
Of the January sun; and not to think
Of any misery in the sound of the wind,
In the sound of a few leaves,
Which is the sound of the land
Full of the same wind
That is blowing in the same bare place
For the listener, who listens in the snow,
And, nothing himself, beholds
Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is."
Wallace Stevens, Snow Man
Jan. 4
sunday we took our first drive of the new year
and headed towards the mountains
over the bridge
and through the woods
mere traces of snow
lining the roads
but as we climbed
the more it became
a feast for our eyes
a winter wonderland
so far different than we'd ever seen
i could not get our littles dressed fast enough
i could feel the desire rushing through my veins
truly a sight to behold
you could see the magic
the gift that nature had given
for as far as ones eyes could see
it glistened
and sparkled
like i'd never seen
i have yet to resolve my blogger photo storage issue
just been deleting old pics ect
will be contacting a lady here this day
and hopefully i can get back up with lots and lots of photos to share

Lovely photos. I'd have no complaints if the snow and ice in the city looked like that.

It looks like the trees are covered in jewels. Beautiful.
I hope you can figure out the bloggy issue because I always look forward to your photography.
Lovely Crystal for us to see!! And I loved your poem choice Faerwillow, very fitting indeed!
Maybe you can leave just one pic for each post?
I didn't even know that they had a bandwidth for this stuff...perhaps we all should do some digging. You certainly have my curiosity piqued!
Have a Beautiful Day...Enjoy your Jeweled Sacred Space!
We got a light dusting of the fluffy snow last night and everything is sparkling out there. :)

FW- brave to venture out in such cold. But the crewards of such great images must have made it worthwhile. Great macro shots of the ice crystals - nature's diamonds. Go well. B
such gorgeous crystal images!
I once deleted old images and they disappear right out of the old posts that they were part of. yikes.
Maybe uploading small file sizes in the future... but maybe you already do. So sorry to hear this is happening, must be very frustrating.
Happy new year dear Faerwillow. Your words and photographs always take me to a place of tranquility, thank you. I almost cried when I saw the trees, I've never seen anything like that, you are truly blessed!
what kind of camera do you use, and lenses...those snow close ups are phenominal!!
