The purpose of
most christmas stories
is to capture
the spirit of the holiday
unknown
dec. 16
falling behind this season from being sick
one thing i have yet to accomplish
is finding a few new holiday books
for our littles
here below
is a glimpse of some of our beloved stories
stories from when i was little
to ones that i have found to share
and have given to my own
my hopes are
not only to open the doors to magical places
embrace the holiday spirit
encourage the joy of reading
but also my reasoning is
to be able to give these to my littles
when they begin families of their own
~what are some of your favorite seasonal stories~
i would love to hear

Started reading a new one the other day about cats doing a Christmas journey...don't remember the title or author...sorry...decent book so far...
Hmmmmm...we read a few. I often read "Little House in the Big Woods" about now..Laura Wilder..helps my younger kids understand how things were before Walmart LOL..but I love the sweetness and clarity of the season.
Of course any of the wonderful Jan Brett Christmas books..I read those not only to my own but my preschoolers as well. She has a wonderful website that offers free teaching tools and coloring pages...I love her sweet drawings!!
Ackkk sorry to hear you are sick hon..we have been passing the coughy coldy thing here..but everyone is almost well. Sending hugs and love to you hon, Sarah
Hello my fairy friend,
I have always liked The Snow Queen as a Christmas read and when I was really little my mum used to buy me Rupert Bear Christmas annuals. I really loved them. I like books that take you far away to magical places.
I hope you and your children enjoy their Christmas books this season.
Many Blessings,
Jo. xxx
What a lovely collection! My favorite Christmas reads growing up (and even now) are The Snow Queen, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Night Before Christmas and The Polar Express.
When you open your solstice books......you will see mine. tee hee The Olde Bagg, Linda

I'm going to write a post tomorrow for Aisha's "21 Days of Yule" on just this very topic. I love taking out my fave. childhood books that I only read this time of the year. They always make me smile, ponder and believe in magick again. I'm going to have to check out some of the books you have a photo of.
jotham's journey is a great one.
What a wonderful collection of treasured books! Thanks so very much for sharing them all. :) Lovely choices! Theresa
A Christmas Carol, I love the dark Victorian-ness. The little Match Girl and although it's not strictly a Christmas Story The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe. Wish Mr Tumnus would come for tea, sniff.
Thank you for sharing your beloved books.
