is there nothing quite like
the smell of cookies baking
the sweet scent lingering in the air
preheat oven 350 degrees
cream 1 cup shortning
add 1 cup butter
i use unsalted butter
mix till light and fluffy
add 1 cup granulated sugar
add 1 cup powdered sugar
mix till light and fluffy
add 1 egg
mix till incorporated
add 1 egg
mix till incorporated
add 1 tbsp vanilla
mix till incorporated
add 1 cup flour
i put dry ingrediants into a sifter first
add 1 tsp baking soda
add 1 tsp salt
i use kosher salt
add 1 tsp cream of tarter
add dry ingrediants
mix till incorporated
add 1 cup flour
mix till incorporated
add 1 cup flour
there is a total of 3 cups flour
mix till incorporated
once dough is finished
remove from bowl
and chill in fridge minimum 2 hours
i use a glasslock container
dough stays fresh for a few days
flour surface
work with small amounts of dough
roll dough out
use your favorite cookie cutters
add your favorite sprinkles
into the oven for 8 minutes
remove
let cool for about 1 minute
then transfer to a cooling rack
store in glass container

O' Happy Holiday Cookie Time.
I've never been a cookie baker, but this year, something came over me. I'm baking Jaz's Cranberry Coconut cookies today, and will make your Grandma's Sugar Yule cookies tomorrow, or tonight. Mine will be all angels with silver and gold sprinkles.
