nov. 20,
the snow has been falling up in the mountains
a rare early opportunity for us around here
i shall tell you a story of some years ago
there once was a girl
who could be decribed as graceful
yet strong in her stance
she was a gymnast for many years
she was raised by the waters
for her family did not venture to the snow
luck would be had if she felt or ever saw a few flakes fall
she remembers traveling through the passes at night
seeing the mountain lit up
and skiers skattered about
she thought each time
fun they must be having
as she grew older
her curiosity continued
the day had come
she was armed with a drivers license in hand
her father gifted her some tires for snow
and off she and her friends would go
both day or night
during the winter months
she could be found up in the mountains
playing in the snow
soon came a sport
well known by now to all
she decided she wanted to give it a go
so off to the store she went
picked out the most sweetest black and pink board
boots to match and a pair of new gloves
home she went to call a few friends
one by one she picked them up
and soon the pass could be seen
and a voice calling their names was heard
waiting for their arrival
a fresh dusting of snow
she climbed the mountain
board in hand
hoped on the lift and off she went for a quick little ride
time to jump and get ready to go
she latched her other foot in
took a deep breath
look down that endless path
all fluffy and white
gave a little push
her board began to slide down the hill
far faster than she had thought or imagined it would
she began getting a bit nervous for trees lay ahead...
hhhmmm
one problem
she had forgotten to ask her friends
how do you stop
she yelled down
asking how one should stop
this here friend said just fall backwards
so backwards she went
hard into the snow
her bum was throbbing
a tailbone she had cracked
her board has laid up hidden far away
though protected and kept warm for its stay
fifteen some on years has passed
she is married now
and a mother of two
last night one brought her board down
she stared it in the face
and vowed she would finally try again
is she foolish for trying not to be afraid???

I think you are brave and courageous!
I've been sitting here reading and catching up...everything so resonates with me!
Bare and Naked really spoke to me of standing in front of Creator just as we are, as we cannot hide from Mother/Father God and...since now is the time for transparency here on Mother Earth it would serve us well to find our strength in standing bare and naked before our web of connectedness so that we are reminders to one another that we all have warts and foibles...and hopefully through that come to realize the true peace that will come from humanity when we recognize ourselves as all being one, not separate from one another....
So I thank you for that reminder!
Your stone posting has me smiling big...if you could see my home you'd know why...I have every nook and cranny filled with stone beauty as I channel the Stone People. All DNA from time immemorial is stored within them, which is why we feel so much energy emitting from them and why we see their faces...they are the faces of our ancestors...beautiful as they are!
You my Dear One are Beauty!
Blessings on Your Downhill Journey in the Snow!
Have a delightful weekend...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
YES! YES!!! She should try it. very carefully at first because we don't want her to break a bone, but yes! She should try it once again.
OMG! This is so much fun. I had goosebumps reading it because I was so scared something awful might happen, Such suspense, my heart was beating bumpity bump - so exciting.
I think she should and she should teach her two young 'uns!
You thinK?
Go!
Go!
GO!
It is time!!
Blessings dear one!
I say go for it! If you let memories of pain hold you back you'd never get anywhere in life, the same should go for physical pain too. By the way, I can empathise greatly with your injury. I don't actually have a tail bone (which is apparently not that uncommon) just a little bit of soft cartilidge instead. I damaged it quite badly some years back though and now I've developed a condition that I keep needing surgery for. So I do understand what you went through! Don't let it hold you back though. Snow is one of the most magical gifts that nature gives us to brighten up these dark days of winter, and you should be out enjoying every sparkly minute of it. Oh, I do hope we get a proper blanketing this year!
Yeah go again! I strained a ligament skiing and ended up in plaster but I'd go again!
I would go for it. At my age, I wouldn't dare try it now, but in my younger years, you couldn't stop me. Life is risk. Just stepping outdoors is a risk. Do it, my friend, for if you don't, you will always regret not trying.

Oh, I was SO caught up in your story. I think you SHOULD definitely give it a try. Be cautious, of course, but give it a try. You will have fun! Enjoy the snow. :) Theresa
that is a SERIOUSLY rockin' board...i LOVE the swans -- so perfect!
go for it....
maybe try the bunny hill?
xo
Have fun but be careful! Bitchin' board, babe!
I agree with Mary...if you don't, when you can't, you'll wish you had. The Olde Bagg
