nov. 22,
she and her family hoped into their truck
and headed towards the mountain side
with their hopes held high of finding some snow
and wishes at hand from her fellow friends
they traveled along
higher and higher they climbed
on a road far less traveled
until they stumbled upon a place ever so grand
a place high up in the trees
so far away from any other
they stood alone
in the quiet of this day
their littles cried out
its here
can we stay...can we stay
in a moments time
our truck was parked
and all were getting bundled up
she turned around
to see a papa and little already sledding down
now one older could not resist the ride
and as he sailed on down the hill
he yelled from behind
"are you coming...you said you'd try"
she said she'd try
and so she must
she grabbed her board
and blessed it with the feel of snow
oh how long it had been
one older came back up and said
i'll show you how
with a gentle ease he smoothly glides
her l♥ve came up
to buckle her in
and grabbed her by her hand
he walked with her
this here hill...oh it looks quite small from the picture
but once you get to the middle
it drops and you go flying
till he no longer could
she felt his hands release one by one
and soon screaming could be heard
she screamed
and she laughed
and
then
SHE FELL
but this time was different
she was able to walk again
so she pulled up her big girl britches
and tried again
was she graceful as the swan that lay on her board
by far not
but she was up
alone this time
giving it another try
she fell not once
she fell not twice
oh she fell and fell
but she kept getting up to try and try
admist all of this trying and falling
she realized she was going down
on the wrong foot
so a different direction she turned
what a difference it made
she continue to fall
and her littles came to the rescue each time
but she was able to pick herself up
and walk again
what a day full of lessons and blessings
she realized
what a natural her oldest was at being a teacher
for he guided his mama like no other has
the roles being reversed
as i his mama became the learner
and through his words and encouragement
i was able to keep going
but i as their mama
showed the valuable lesson
of never give up
no matter how many times you fall
you will never learn unless you try again
so was she foolish for trying???
she feels she was not.

Hats and horns....let's throw a success party for the mama. Good on you girl. And especially good for your little, big and loved one. They got to see you check another "almost or coulda been" off your list. Yay, The Olde Bagg, Linda
I can't believe you have snow already!! A beautiful lesson learned in a humorous way. I hope it wasn't too painful, because I had to laugh a few at this one. I just love the way you tell a story :)
Good for you, Faerwillow! Love this tale of triumph!

Good going momma!! Looks like fun was had by all.It has started snowing again here. So I think we are in for it. It is so beautiful. Take care!
You did it! Its true never give up on the things you want to accomplish even if it just for fun!
Looks like you all had a great time! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Thank you for all the beautiful posts I read in my reader & don't get over enough to comment on~ xo Theresa
Looks like you had loads of fun and the pictures are beautiful.
Wonderful lessons on all fronts. The nice thing is that falling on snow isn't as painful as pavement and it's part of the fun. We had a little bit of snow here, most of it's gone except for a little here and there and of course the Peanut sized snowman sitting in our front yard.
I'm glad you did it. And it sounds like you had a great time while teaching your children never to give up.

Yay you! I love this post...and all that snow, while I'm here baking in the sun! Powerful message also - never give up, no matter how many times you fall x
You lucky thing. You have snow... Yippie!!! ;-)
Your photo's are lovely of the Winter wonderland. Such beautiful views!
Faerwillow, I admire your courage to surf the snow... It sounds like your son enjoyed teaching you a few surfing skills! ;-)
We do fall down many times in life, but at least we can learn to pick ourselves up and learn a few lessons along the way.
It's lovely to hear that your son is enjoying reading the Harry Potter books. I can't believe that all the stories will be ending soon, they have played such a big part in people's lives.
Many blessings my friend.
Hugs,
Jo. x
Oh what gifts were shared and learned in this experience for you Beloved! I never doubted for a minute that you could do it and do it you did!!!!
Loved all the awesome photos of fun and play and snow!!! It is cold enough here to snow today...yesterday was warm and tornado watches out and today is in the single digits so perhaps by Thanksgiving we will see some snowflakes! And now I have one more thing to be thankful for...a beautiful Sister in Spirit who follows her HeartSong! :)
