"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

mama...is there anything happening in the sky~

"the air is different today
the wind sings with a new tone
signs of changes coming
the harvest gathered
a flower, a nut
some mead, and bread
a candle and a prayer
returning the fruits
in thanksgiving
to the grove
and receiving
 it's blessing again"
Rhawk, Alban Elfed

~New Moon~

"Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain so yellow
Try to remember the kind of September
When you were a young and a callow fellow
Try to remember and if you rememberThen follow--follow, oh-oh."
Try to Remember, Lyrics by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt

September 21

~Jupiter at Opposition~

The Solar System's largest planet will be at its closest approach to Earth.
This is the best time to view and photograph Jupiter and its moons.
The giant planet will be a big and bright as it gets in the night sky
. A medium-sized telescope should be able to show you some of the details in Jupiter's cloud bands.

"Do you remember the 21st night of September?
Love was changing the minds of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing.
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away."
September, Lyrics by Maurice White, Charles Stemney and Verdine White

~Uranus at Opposition~

The blue-green planet will be at its closest approach to Earth.
This is the best time to view Uranus,
although it will only appear as a tiny blue-green dot in all but the most powerful telescopes.

"Drink a toast to Dionysus, the God of wine and ecstasy -
The son of the Moon!
Gather with friends to celebrate the vine
with a bottle of good wine and good cheer.
Catch the Moon's reflection
in your cup and raise it up in salutation.
Now drink in Her essence and feel
the presence of the God and Goddess."
September, The Harvest Moon, Moon Lore

September 23

 The
 Autumnal Equinox
occurs in the northern hemisphere at 03:09 UT.
There will be equal amounts of day and night. This is also the first day of fall.

"Equal dark, equal light
Flow in Circle, deep insight
Blessed Be, Blessed Be
The transformation of energy!
So it flows, out it goes
Three-fold back it shall be
Blessed Be, Blessed Be
The transformation of energy!"
Night An'Fey, Transformation of Energy

 ~Full Moon~

"Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers."
Carl Sandburg, Under the Harvest Moon

to a month of gold and gleaming beauty
surrounding us all
may it be a blessed time for you

I agree ... a beautiful reminder of all the gifts of the coming season and this month!

The coming full moon is also celebrated in China as the Mid-Autumn Festival, their version of Thanksgiving when we celebrate family, abundance and wholeness. It is a special holiday for me as 6 years ago I wished upon the Harvest moon for a healthy child and 2 years later I was united with my daughter who was born just before that very moon!

Happy September! I love the tradition you are starting and hopefully will continue (as next year I would join in on the fun!)
