“Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant,
they too have their story”
Max Ehrman
this had me thinking this morning after i read
365 simple pleasures
by susannah seton
i shared this book awhile back
and
yet again here i am sharing another passage with you
8 things
could it really be that hard
NOPE
today
i will nourish my spirit
and
all those who surround me
~the gift of listening~
this jump right off the page for me
what a gift this is
how many times have you sat reading
or heard someones voice on the other end
yet you weren't
LISTENING
fully engaged in what one had written
or
heard the words that were coming from ones mouth
not only today
but each one that comes to be
i shall remember such word
LISTEN
cause i know we all want a chance to be heard
wrote a post the other day
about
BEING PRESENT
her words
"I started questioning
what else am I missing
by
just participating in live at a
"dip your toe"
depth.
And I am sorry to say that I am missing alot. I kinda listen, sorta care, barely attend and have lost site of lots of the things that happen that hold importance in a human being's life......if lived fully. I need to be in attendance more fully on so many levels"
her words summed up my day to day as of late perfectly
i for the last month or so have just been toe dipping
i wish to dive head first again
be present
be still
be aware of those in my life
including each of you
its so easy to get caught up in
the commotion of life
the commotion of life
we simply forget
to let the
quiet of your mind moments
take heed
may you
pause
today
and
really
LISTEN
to all that is within you
and
all that surrounds you
you may hear something quite beautiful
something that if you were not
LISTENING
you could have missed

I agree! Listening is such an important part of mindfulness.
This is powerful and empowering. So glad I stopped by to share this simple reminder to treasure the small stuff and not to let life get in the way of living.
Smiles and thank you
Dear One: thank you for the complement. I am awed by your reference to my thought. What blessing you have given me today. Blessings, The Olde Bagg, Linda
Ah, the art of listening. Sometimes I am so tired from listening at work, I tend not to want to listen to my loved ones. Something I really have to work at.

Wonderful post. Sometimes I'm too busy with my buzzing mind to really sink into a moment and listen. Thank you for reminding me the importance of stopping to really listen!
Listen. A most beautiful word to say AND do. Very, very thoughtful blog chapter. Thank -you!
P.S. Please DO come for a visit: I Hope They Have Pudding, where an award awaits you!
What a beautiful and honest post - I know it comes from your heart - you can feel the warmth from here . . . I am guilty of the same and appreciate the reminder. I guess the old saying is true, "they don't care how much you know until they know how much you care . . ."
BTW, so sorry I have been gone so long - it's been a challenging week :) xoxoxo
What a beautiful post. I need to look up this book. There is a lot of wisdom in these words - and there is so much feeling coming straight from your heart. Thank you for speaking from your heart. Theresa
