"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

Fingerless Gloves

with gloomy days lingering around here
and the seasons change

warmth has been on my mind

see this sweater here
CASHMERE
{imagine the soft snuggly feel}
well it has been l♥ved all too well
i have mended it over and over

the time had finally come
for a little repurposing

i won't lie
i stared at my bel♥ved sweater for quite some time
holding scissors in one hand and camera in another
and then

I DID IT

i cut the sleeves to elbow length
{i know the one end looks fairly large
but when you wash them they shrink up a bit and fit quite nicely}

YIKES

i went about 1" up
and cut a little slit for my thumb

crocheted a little flower
and warmth i have made

Very brave to cut up a favourite - but just think of all that extra snuggliness over the years you can enjoy! Great idea.

Those are so adorable. I love the little crochet flower. I wish i knew how to crochet. I do love to upcycle old sweaters though. I love the gloves. Wonderful.

I think the little flower makes them. How lovely. Does the wool get felty?

fun fun fun. I am a cashmere lover, literally on my top ten list, maybe even #3! And living in a place that I can wear it most the year.... oooh la la.
I love what you did here!

Fabulous, FaerWillow! They look beautiful and so warm. And I adore the color combo of the gloves with the crocheted flower. :) Great work! Theresa

I kid you not...I have the SAME hooded cashmere sweater in grey and it also has little holes! I keep staring at it as if the holes will magically mend themselves. A few months ago I cleared out some old sweaters (mostly all cashmere argyles) and a tossed them. I wish so much I had saved them for this type of project. Fabulous as always my dear friend!!!
