i wonder what sunday will bring
i woke up early
and thought i would leave a message for my family
a new way to greet them
made my coffee and sat back down
to savor the morning show
i've learned to be still
to clear my mind
to simply be
and take in the moment
all in a blink
mr. sun is shining bright
greeting each who slowly rises
my journal is always with me
for those minutes i have
when no one else is around
this little one
must have dreamed of fish
for no sooner did one come out from the tent
he went straight to the water
pleased with yesterdays catch
one wee littlest
decided to have a rest
now how could this one resist
spending time
bonding in such a special way
as the minutes passed
the heat was radiating warmth upon us
hours of being in the sun
tuckered out is one
well maybe not just one
this old hat hid under the trees
only for a few minutes please
one last ride
please oh please
with luna out
we know our time has come to an end
all packed up
over the bridge
one last glance
at the space we love
now see here
a lesson was learned
in our thoughts
we were not alone
there were so many more
then we thought possible
waiting for the heat to fall
for mr. sun sun to sink below
leaving us all
with beautiful memories to last
{what is usually about a 1 1/2-2 hour drive took us over 4 hours to get home}

Nothing like gridlock to make you realize that you're back in "civilisation!"
You had such a magical summer. Such a beautiful place to be.

Gorgeous photographs, I love reading about your trips.
Such a nice way to share... I was taken away for a bit....then plopped right back into reality when I saw the traffic...haha!
Sounds like you and your family had a marvelous time reconnecting with Nature....and eachother :)

Such glorious beauty! What a fitting tribute to your wondrous trip. So sad that hideous traffic had to rear its ugly head after your idyllic time away...Theresa

Your photo story is stunning as always. I was just saying to Breen yesterday that I am sad we did not find time to camp this summer. We may try for a weekend in the fall. Camping soothes my soul. Just being in nature taking in all the sounds and sights makes me feel so very peaceful.
