"As for the garden of mint
the very smell of it alone
recovers and refreshes our spirits,
Pliny
when we first moved into our home
i had this image of what my gardens would be
herbs filling ever crevice
creeping
crawling into their space
i cared not what others had warned me of
take heed...be careful
To pay attention to...listen to and consider
how and why ever should i complain
or worry about the growth of such
for this is what i chose
this is exactly what i wanted
what i longed dreamed of
an herb filled garden
flourishing
day by day
spreading its roots
growing stronger
fuller
budding and blooming
and ever so sweetly fragrancing the air
now as the years have passed
do i wish for this herb to continue to grow
by all means
i do
one of the great pleasures i receive
having an abundance of such
is the blessing of sharing
the gift of giving
i have come to know
the more i give...the more i receive
the better it grows

Oh, so true! And what better (and more fragrant) teacher than mint - in our case it's lemon balm and rosemary that have turned our garden so fragrant. You made me smile this morning! Thank you for that!! Love, Silke

You'll never be at a loss to make a mint julep.
Oh so beautiful, Faer Willow! It is ALWAYS a good thing to have an abundance of herbs. :) With us, it is basil and lavender. Oh my - how it smells so good. :) Theresa
Your mint photographs are...are... They are just too beautiful for words! I would like a night gown made of fabric whose pattern was inspired by these Nature's wands. How very lovely it would be and would truly insure sweet dreams! Thank you ever so much for sharing these wonderful posey portraits!
This post really made me smile. Thank you. And oh the photographs you take of the many of nature's bounties. It's obvious you see their spirit.

Mint is another of my favorite herbs. Mine is blooming beautifully and everytime I walk by it blows me a kiss with it's scent. Love it!
