what does one do when she runs out of mayo
well
she finds a recipe and makes some herself
~i did tweek this~
1 egg yolk
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp dry mustard
{calls for 1/2 tsp...i ran out}
1/4 tsp sugar
whisk these ingrediants togther
add 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
whisk into mixture
add 1 tsp more lemon juice
2 tsp white vinegar
whisk into mixture
1 cup canola oil
slowly...slowly
add oil to mixture
whisk inbetween
within a matter of moments
you have
homemade mayonaise
refrig for up to 1 week
reason for making this
lunch was calling
albacore tuna
homemade mayo
fresh cracked pepper
mix together
grab a plate
slice a tomato from your garden
and a few pieces of white chedder cheese
lunch served
this by far had to be the best mayonnaise i have ever had
and not just cause i made it!!

I love homemade mayo. One of my favourite things. I like to add lots of garlic in mine too. Yum yum yum!
Thanks for sharing this recipe. I've never made mayonnaise but I think I could give it a go. That plate of tuna, cheese and tomato looks AMAZING - three of my favorites. :) Theresa
