"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

I Woke Up This Morning

my water had just broke

i sat straight up in bed
nudged my husband and said

"i think its time"

i stood up
scurrying for towel
changed my jammies
and started gathering our oldest toys

{at the time he was in l♥ve with these little action figures
every night we would gather them up and put them in the truck...
just to be safe and prepared
not so much this time...}

the day prior
 i had my appointment
begging my doctor
is there anything we can do
he laughed and said your still 2 weeks away
but i am oh so ready
well baby is not
go home, maybe walk, have a beer, take a bath...relax

my oldest and i left
we went to the mall
walked for what seemed like forever and a day
finally his poor little legs couldn't take anymore
mama can we go home now

we made our way
relaxed outside
papa came home
i said i was going to take a bath and just go to bed
i am really tired

no toys had been packed
though all bags waiting patiently in the car

if only i knew the surprise my one had

be careful what you wish for
you know what they say

even before conceiving
i knew in my mind
this time
i wanted all the surprises
the experience and excitement
of life happening on its own

{my first i was 2 1/2 weeks over due...induced}

we woke our little one
all in the car
made our trek down to the hospital
{40 min drive...crazy i am}

i will never forget the look on my childs face
me in a wheelchair
he by my side
half smile...half i don't know what the heck is happening look

by this time now
as i sit here and type
i was about a 6 or 7
labor was going quite smoothly

and all in a blink of an eye
9:25am
one wee little baby made his presence known

and soon my doctor was handing me
a beautiful screaming boy

its hard to believe
5 years
has gone by

how much he has grown

What a sweet remembrance. I remember my labours with both of my little ones and cherish those moments. With my second, time was of this essence as well. Makes it interesting, and certainly exciting! Happy birthday.

I saw it happening! My eyes were as wide as your those of your oldest child while he experienced some of the miracle. Poetic non fiction is the best!
