"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

some photo help please~

i have been TRYING to play with my images
and well coming up a lost cause!

the saddest part is way back when i was in school
i spent 2 years in visual communications
and needless to say
times have changes
and so has technology

frustrated because i am not getting it
i can invert color as this is a simple push of a button
but for anything other
i am lost

so i ask for HELP

There are many software programs to use to manipulate photos...some are very involved and expensive (Photoshop)...some are not (ArcSoft Photoimpressions)... gimp is free on the internet and it's similar to Photoshop I believe...After you get basics, you just need to play until you figure it out...or have a person to sit down with you and show...I don't do much...try to get it right in the camera...not always successful...good luck...

i use GIMP2.6 ... it's free, just type GIMP download. i manipulate images and make blog layouts with it. i dun think i have explored everything there as yet, but it does do a great job.try it.

I purchased Adobe's Photoshop Elements 8 but haven't really had a chance to play with it.

Oh hello Faerwillow!! ; ), seems i have arrived in the nick of time on my broom stick to help, swooping in with the only programme I feel you will truly need to make beautiful photos.

I use Picasa, its a google made programme and is free to download, it becomes a programme that all your photos are automatically sucked into and you can play with them and reverse anything you do anytime, all your photos in your original photo album (my pictures) are not affected by what happens on picasa, when you have made your photos perfect and want to get them back to my pictures to use/blog them you highlight them and export them to a new folder, in my pictures i have a folder called 'blogspot' so all the photos i am going to blog with are sent there.
its a cool programme, not like the complications I found with photo shop at all, you cannot get lost, it does not do layering like photo shop, its purely about photos. but its great for making great photos prefect, I use it on every photo im going to post.
blah blah blah, i cant say enough praises about it as you can see, the night i found it i thought id found heaven.

and thanyou for joining in the peticoat parade, Im doing a huge post today so your timimg is perfect. hopefully thanks to nz post it will be there by summer hehe snail mail here indeed!!!

have a lovely spring day
and get onto picasa

hello there... i use elements 7. it can do so much & i have a few books but don't do well with them. i took one course online recently which got me to jump in & start messing around... most of the time i just do a few simple fixes in picasso. i want to learn so much... i'm attracted to some of the digital collages i see on etsy but don't think i'll ever get time to explore & experiment that much. i actually enjoy the hunt & shoot more than altering them..... keep at it...i have come across free tutorials on some blogs too!

Hi Faerwillow - I just sent you an e-mail about all I know about Paint.net (which isn't much). Feel free to e-mail me with any other questions too and I'll try and help. xoxo
