"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

Wishcasting Wednesday~

there once was a girl who lived in a make believe world
though the life she was living felt oh so real...
she hid behind the fantasy of a childhood dream
pushing aside the mere reality each day that passed...
her heart was never full
her mind was always stirring
agitated and unsettled...
though she would never allow those feelings to arise
despite the obvious
she held on tight to what she had
out of fear for no longer having
the ideal love that she had always wanted...
the love she thought she had
until one day...

What story do you wish to live or let go of?

anothers face was seen...
strange that years had gone by
and never had they had any encounters
since they had parted years before...
her heart starting skipping a beat or two
her eyes could not break
or blink
unreal and such a sight she was seeing...
she explains by saying fate had the upper hand
"The supposed force, principle, or power that predetermines events.
The inevitable events predestined by this force.
A final result or consequence; an outcome."
she could no longer hide behind the words she had told herself
words she convinced herself of otherwise...
what she had been living was a mere fantasy
a way for her to take cover...
a way of trying to captivate her dreams
so she let free of any and all of her inhibitions...
and sought out the very next day
the one who stole her heart
in a blink of an eye
swept up in only a moment with him
whirling around
floating above clouds of extacy...
but all to soon the past came back
and she allowed others to take the upper hand
to dictate her mind
her heart
her feelings...
soon she had stumbled so far backwards
from all she so longed to have...
allowing fear of hurting others
to inhibit the choice she had already made...
pain was among many
her wound remained open for a few years to come...
until one day she woke
from the nightmare she had created...
she was ready to take stand
and allow her heart to breath
to breath the essence of him she only wished to be

fortunate was she
that he remained grounded
unwilling to allow her feelings to uplift him
to bid him farewell
to send him on his way...
he stayed
though not with her for sometime
but for her
and because of his heart so pure
they are living and loving here today

this is my story...
along the way i have wished a thousand times over that i would have taken stand
fought and seeked out and remained true
to what i wished to have
looking back i see much growth indeed
we are who we are
based on the reflection
the experiences and choices we have made
the only story i can wish to let go of
is the guilt that occasionally lingers
from the pain i had caused to another and to us
but i know one should not feel guilty for following their heart...
so i will forever wish and allow MY story to live

I have never felt so acutely or so deeply attuned to any words before this sobbing moment. With every new phrase I am engaged and entwined. Oh my sister of the heart, blessed be.
A million years ago in the 70's Roberta Flack sang a song with the phrase "killing me softly with her song, killing me softly with her words". This is the opposite. Birthing me softly with your words Faerwillow.

what grace to know that each element of our stories, no matter how painful or guilt ridden, contributes to the unique alchemy that makes us who we are. having many chapters to my story that would shame me to tell, i read yours and recognize this truth: i would not be as richly me without having passed through those episodes.

Your story is artistically told, and perhaps the last little piece of the story can be released.

Hay Faerwillow! what a beautiful prose/poem. especially,

"what she had been living was a mere fantasy
a way for her to take cover..."

How true that is! I'm happy it all worked out. super illustrations too.

thx! Giulietta

Your story has touched me like no other ever has. It is my story too. But mine, I'm sorry to say, has a different ending. How did you find the where-with-all to break free?

I'm in tears. Real, literal tears. You have no idea how this touched me or how real or close your story is to things I have been experiencing this past few years. Goddess bless us, heal us, help to see us through.
