yesterday i wanted to be wrapped indoors but as the sky was clear
i could hear the birds i could smell my lavender
i could see a moment to Savor
"There is a privacy about it which no other season gives you .....
In spring, summer and fall
people sort of have
people sort of have
an open season on each other;
only in the winter, in the country,
can you have longer,
quiet stretches when you can
can you have longer,
quiet stretches when you can
savor belonging to yourself."

"January is the quietest month in the garden. ...
But just because it looks quiet
doesn't mean that nothing is happening.
The soil, open to the sky, absorbs the pure rainfall
while microorganisms convert tilled-under
fodder into usable nutrients for the next crop of plants.
The feasting earthworms tunnel along, aerating the soil
and preparing it to welcome the seeds and bare roots to come."

A serene autumn denotes a windy winter;
a windy winter, a rainy spring- ;
a rainy spring-, a serene summer;
a serene summer, a windy autumn,
so that the air on a balance

Beautiful photographs. I especially love the shoots of the tulip peaking through the dirt. That is Imbolc to me.
Great photos! All of them!
you weren't kidding about babies in the garden - i pictured one or two - what you've got going on is quite impressive and a bit confusing.
I don't know -- I better get out there and find out! Great photos.
My heart is joyful - there is nothing like new green in a garden, on trees, here and there in the earth! Wonderful!
I too don't know what's going on out there but you have definitely motivated me to go out and take a peek! I doubt I'll find any early tulips or buds as cold as it has been and with all the snow just quite yet but..wow. That is quite perplexing and impressive!
