"You stand up for what you believe in, even if it gets you in the way of what others think..."

My photo
if i could use one word to describe my life SERENDIPITY seems to fit the space... i stumbled upon my husband during a time i shouldn't have and my story goes on from there... constantly falling or stumbling upon remarkable gifts and people who bring fortune to our lives... when we fall we learn and strive toward the next step.

looking through my eyes

yesterday evening
nothing so great
warm not cold
dry not rainy
holiday songs filling our car
wonders of what the rest of the day entails

an innocent person going about
walking along his merry way
from around the corner came two

a commotion broke out
horns honking away
we in our car
wondering about

i looked in my mirror
wondering what the h*ll i did
i could not go any further
as the light stood still

i turned my head
and now you looking through my eyes
this is what we saw

one on the ground
with two on top
kicking and beating
the one below
the two jumped up
and ran for some place to surely go

a young one lay alone on the ground
his blood pouring out
everyone is looking
no one is doing

the light let go
and around i went
made the phone call no one likes to admit
i couldn't just act if nothing had gone astray
and let this poor child lie there this way

i pulled in to offer my care
another came too
i got back in my car
and drove down the road
hoping to see where the other two went

gone, vanished...but not to my dissmay
as i was talking
the ambulance now on its way
mine in the back
asking if all is ok

i drove back down
and sat beside
asking if he knew

he said he was walking
they came from behind....
tears pouring from his eyes
blooding dripping down in between

why....
why then
why now
why....
why does anyone have to endure
the pain one choices to do
why is there anger
why stupidity
why such violence
why choose to hurt
why then
why now
why....

i feel no justice
only sorrow for what lay
and to all the others looking about
it was just another day

as i drove away
i thought of this boy
who lay above
i thought of this song
through night till dawn

Sade~ "The Sweetest Gift"

Quietly while you were asleep
The moon and I were talking
I asked that she'd always keep you protected

She promised you her light
That you so gracefully carry
You bring your light and shine like morning

And then the wind pulls the clouds across the moon
Your light fills the darkest room
And I can see the miracle
That keeps us from falling

She promised all the sweetest gifts
That only the heaven's could bestow
You bring your light and shine like morning

And as you so gracefully give
Her light as long as you live
I'll always remember this moment

This was so sad to hear about and it just breaks my heart to image little one seeing it through his tender eyes.
I'm glad you could be there for the boy though to offer kindness - I'm sure it helped him in that moment of pain and aloneness.
